LAYS LAKE HOG HUNT

Lays Lake Hunting Club hosted it's first "Wounded Warrior" hog hunt on March 25-26 recently. Thanks to the effots and leadership of Brian Molaschi, and the entire Lays Lake Hunting Club for approaching us with this wonderful offer to take these wounded veterans on this fantastic hog hunting adventure. I personally have hunted my whole life and have never experienced something as intense as this! Our host's for the weekend greeted all of us with open arms and hospitality, situated on this beautiful 1600 acre piece of property. From the time we arrived we all were treated as if we were old friends, all of these soldiers not only had the bond of being brothers in arms, but could all relate to having been injured while in combat. There were not only local business people who helped and donated their time and resources, but alot of former soldiers and retirees who felt like they also needed to come out and fellowship and give something back to their brothers who are still actively taking the fight to our enemies. There were all types of gifts handed out to these men, from firearms, to clothing, to bows, so much so I could not keep up with everything, the food was fantastic,we did not go hungry at all let me tell you. This hunt was not only about chasing down and hunting hogs, and harvesting some great pork for the grill later, it was taking the time to take a break from this fast paced world we live in, and to take a deep breath, regroup within ourselves, pack our bags and make the decission to come out to this great hunting club, and share a campfire and stories with some of America's finest. Let me say that I have been fortunate to share many a hunt, many a meal, laughed and cried with many a soldier during such great events as this one at Lays Lake Hunting Club this weekend, and when it comes right down to it, it is truely not about the hunt, or the quarry we pursue, but it is in fact about the friendships we make, the stories we share, and the memories we build. For those that appreciate all that our military provides for us and this nation, and actually take the time to not only say thank you, but to invest their time and help honor those that have given so much in the name of freedom for this country, not only through time away from families, but with lose of limb's and sometimes lose of life, all of us at Patriot Hunts give thanks to you, and all of these patriots should be very proud of their efforts this weekend in making this such a great event.

Brian and all those at Lays Lake Hunting Club are now part of the Patriot Hunts Family, and we look forward to sharing another campfire next year. "Makin Bacon 2012" is coming!
